At RCI Village, we not only provide affordable housing, but we also create a community environment where neighbors get to know each other and we have fun. Getting to know your neighbors makes you feel safe, gives you a sense of belonging, and an opportunity for people to socialize who often feel isolated and alone.
We have been remiss in posting photos lately, but we have been as busy as ever at RCI. Our Community Building Center will continue to operate through the summer, even as the overnight shelter and other winter services close for the season. We are working hard to raise the funds to increase the capacity of the Community Building Center, and the $100,000 that we need to launch the RCI Village.
It's hard to find the right words to describe RCI: our work, our approach, and the changes we see from day to day. Thankfully, our participants get it right every time. As one member of our community said recently, “It’s hard to find a job, and it’s hard to find a home. But it’s easy to come here and find love. Thank you for being here.”
